Dr. Alexandros Papachristidis

Dr. Alexandros Papachristidis qualified form Athens Medical School and completed a fellowship in echocardiography and a PhD course at King’s College London. He was appointed Consultant Cardiologist at King’s College Hospital in 2018 and has a leading role in the echocardiography department.

He is SCCT level II CT and EACVI TTE and TOE accredited. He has attended the most prestigious CT courses in London, including the UK Cardiac CT and the London TAVI CT Course, but also international courses such as the Penn Medicine course in Advanced TAVR, TMVR and Beyond and a brief training programme in structural imaging in Massachusetts General Hospital – Harvard Medical School. He has a special interest in valvular heart disease including surgical and structural interventions. His research interest includes 3D echocardiography, valvular heart disease, and development of automated algorithms for 3D imaging processing and analysis. He is the Primary Investigator of several multi-centre trials.

He is the author of more than 50 publications in peer-reviewed journals and he has been faculty member in numerous courses and congresses. He is an Associate Editor in BSE’s journal, Echo Research and Practice, a member of BSE, ASE and SCCT, an EACVI Silver Member, a Professional Member of European Society of Cardiology, and also a member of the British Heart Valve Society and ESC Council on Valvular Heart Disease.
