Dr Jenna Smith is a Clinical Scientist in Cardiology working at Guys & St Thomas Foundation Trust, London. She has 12 years’ experience in performing echocardiography, originally training whilst obtaining a PhD in exercise physiology at Canterbury Christ Church University, and then moving into clinical echocardiography through completing the Scientist Training Programme (STP) and gaining a MSc in Cardiac Science at Newcastle University. She is now currently completing her second PhD through the Higher Specialist Scientist Training programme (HSST), specialising in advanced echocardiography.
Dr Smith is a fully accredited member of the British Society of Echocardiography (BSE) and sub-specialises in advanced echocardiography imaging in heart failure and cardio-oncology, as well as stress echocardiography. She is also responsible for setting up a novel Acute Care inpatient echocardiography service at Guys & St Thomas’ Foundation trust which focuses on teaching and mentoring Acute Care Medics and Physician Associates to obtain BSE level 1 accreditation.
